Our Roof Cleaning Process

At Winco, we take every precaution to ensure your property—plants, surfaces, and roof—is treated with the utmost care during our roof cleaning process. A trained professional is always stationed on the ground to monitor the area and rinse any vegetation in the rare case that our cleaning agents reach the ground. We begin by applying our custom-blended, foam-based algaecide solution, which aggressively targets roof-damaging algae while loosening dirt and debris from the shingles.

Once the solution begins to dry, we follow with a mild, environmentally friendly neutralizer. This neutralizing agent renders the algaecide safe for plants and landscaping—and is actually similar to compounds used to make municipal drinking water safe. By the time we rinse the roof with a gentle garden hose spray, only dead algae and harmless dirt remain. While our cleaning solution does contain a small amount of chlorine, it’s applied in a controlled foam that quickly dissipates into gas upon contact with sunlight and air—minimizing any lingering exposure.
